full disclosure: i love color. no debate, i am 100% drawn to florals, prints, bright colors, pastel colors. always have, always will and that is the truth. but then i was looking at fashion & design i’ve been into slash loving lately and oddly, they were all made up of blacks and whites to creams and grays. i do find this funny, but maybe at the ripe old age of twenty-four, i’m settling down and getting dull. not that it’s a bad thing, the contrary actually; all of the objects and art shown whether it be a print or head to toe black outfit have such depth, that color is essentially unneeded. and can i just add that the “wedding blanket” below would pretty much just make any bedroom go from blah to oh my gahhhh in .2 seconds. yep, that happened. what do you think? are you a color or neutrals person? i always thought i was colorful, but maybe i’m migrating on over to the dark side (or bright side!)
i often think about food, pretty much at all moments of the day. at 9am the question pops into my head “what will i make for dinner?” — and then i day dream about cooking in a beautiful kitchen. i don’t discriminate, i like all kinds. modern kitchens, french kitchens, kitchens with copper pans hanging from the ceiling. what i dont think about? cooking in my little city of chicago kitchen. no bueno. so i will keep dreaming that one day, i will go to the farmers market with this bag, pack it up with goodies and take it back to my lovely kitchen with loads of natural light and cook up a delicious french onion soupy (recipe to come) with these pots. now who’s comin’ for dinner?
p.s. – how awesome are those windows in the above picture and the antler chandelier? i want to live in that kitchen and swing from the chandelier (similar).
whenever i am in stores like anthropologie, i am always drawn to the little odds and ends. the things that make a home special and your own. rifle paper owns it in that department — coming out with beautiful paper products, fun phone covers and many things you didn’t even know you had to have until you struck eyes on it. wouldn’t that recipe box look fab on a counter? or the calendar on your desk or entrance table?
