happy monday people! this weekend was a good one. one with yummy breakfasts, lunches and dinners plus some nice walks and quality lounging time. i also was bursting to the brim with happiness last night in lieu of everyone doing it right on the red carpet + ellen on stage.
while i opted out of wearing a ball gown this weekend, i did reach for my coziest cynthia rowley sweater that never fails me. i headed to the indoor farmers market at the nature museum to pick up a few things and it just so happens the worlds cutest children attend the market in their little canadian gooses, so it’s a done deal in my book. no i am not a child stalker, just a sucker for anything made in mini. anyways, after a quick trip there we headed to a new lunch place, blue door farm stand. it’s perfection with their high ceilings, bright light and heavenly kale + brussel salad. like i said, it was a good weekend. now i am ready to take on the week!..i think :)

how is your weekend going so far, lovelies? mine has been extremely laid back, hung out with friends on friday night and hopped around lincoln park yesterday before i spent the second half of the day watching frozen. don’t judge until you watch, i promise. is it bad that i want one of the character’s hair? maybe. here’s to hoping this sunday passes slowly with lots of reading and tea involved. enjoy!

my leopard craze lives on.
guys, for ONE DAY last week it was warm enough to not wear boots. it happened, it was great and i’m sad it’s over, but happy chicago did not mimic antarctica for 24 hours. ever since i laid eyes on blair’s carven heels, i knew i had to find a similar shoe — without the price tag, obvi. lo and behold, these babies popped up on sole society weeks later. as most items i tend to gravitate towards, you can dress them up or down depending on the day. with a simple black dress at night or jeans and a sweater like i did on this particular (sunny!) day. and now that they have them in different colors, i may go for round two. they are just too cute and comfy to not have a friend in the closet.

guys! i’m back. just quickly though to tell you about an out of this world app they have rolled out in chicago. you know the nights when you have run out of wine, are on your 5th episode of ‘breaking bad’ and just don’t want to get up from your couch? that’s where foxtrot comes in. a delivery service offering drinks, snacks, and things like corkscrews and ice — transported straight to your door within minutes. all for the price of your items + $5 tip/delivery charge! yes, please.
how excited are we for the upcoming and just days away olympics? if by we i meant me, then we are very, very excited. and if you aren’t, then i feel sorry for you (in the nicest possible way). i mean, look at those guys above — their smiles and joy is contagious through the screen. i am such a sucker for the olympics, that when i saw NBC reppin’ commercials for these gloves, i had to have them. i still get the chills and clap every time i watch miracle, even though we clearly know how that one turned out. i hope i’m not alone in this guys. and how special is this cardi? RL does it again. who else will i be rooting for this year? the jamaican bobsled team. clearly i’m into the upcoming games, are you?

most days, i reach for the same pieces over and over, as i am sure most of us do. it’s easy to get into slumps, the hard part is finding new ways to wear all your favorites. mr. groundhog says we have 6 more weeks of winter, so i will be reaching for my greys and blacks for many days to come it seems. one of my favorite ways to wear this sequins jacket (currently on sale!) is dressed down, with boots and a tee, but it would also pair well with this dress. while most days i am tired with my closet, these cold and dark days have taught me the importance of reworking the gems. what’s your go-to? i’d love to hear.
